MEDIA NOCHE

Media Noche is one of the ways of the people in celebrating New Year’s Day. It compose of some foods like something circle, some delicious delicacies and something sweets. Filipino peoples spend their money a lot in this event because they believe that if they celebrate the New Year’s Day with many foods they will receive many graces the whole year. The foods must be eaten after the celebration.

On us, we make sure that all fruits are in there which compose of apples, oranges, peers, etc. and pineapple as the main centerpiece in the fruit group. Every year our mother was preparing delicious foods for all of us. The cooking process always starts early in the morning because she wants all foods are completely prepared on the night before the new year, so all of us are busy since morning.

When we are waiting, us and our relatives are in one place to have some fun. Some of them for us we grab a drink while we are waiting on the event. This program starts always at seven in the evening and end during eleven because all of us were returning into our houses in waiting for the countdown.

When someone in our neighbors said that it is new year’s time, all of us in our village are launching their firecrackers, ignite some explosive firecrackers and everyone are making different but very loud noise in celebrating that day.

After that ceremony, we ate all of our foods which are in the table and when we are not satisfied, we went to our relatives to help them eating their prepared foods until we make our stomach hard as our head. I always come to my grandfather’s house because they always prepared lechon and beef stakes and I love eating those kinds of foods. And also I make sure I have space in my stomach for the deserts. In deserts, I usually went to my godmother’s house because her buko salad are the best as well as her personalized bake cake. Those kinds of deserts satisfied my taste bud very much.  I am totally full if I ate those foodstuffs.  After that  I went home to have some rest and to have some sleep because in the morning we are all busy again in cleaning all we have done like left over foods and the trash of the firecrackers are everywhere.
